Visit to Suomenlinna Fortress
Suomenlinna Fortress was one of the highlights of our trip! After a short ferry ride, we stepped onto this UNESCO World Heritage island and explored its old stone walls, tunnels, and green hills. It was fascinating to see how history and modern life blend together — with locals having picnics right next to centuries-old cannons. The sea breeze and views of Helsinki made it a perfect afternoon escape.
Boxing Lesson in Helsinki
To stay active during our time abroad, Mateo and Nick decided to try something new — a boxing class! The trainer welcomed us with great energy and showed us the basics of stance, movement, and punches. It was tough but incredibly fun, and after an hour of sweat and teamwork, we left the gym feeling stronger and more motivated than ever. Definitely a workout to remember!
Exploring Kuninkaanportti
Mateo and Nick also took a small trip to Kuninkaanportti, a peaceful area surrounded by beautiful Finnish nature. We spent the afternoon walking through the forest paths, listening to birds, and enjoying the calm atmosphere away from the city. It was the perfect break from our busy schedule — just us, nature, and a lot of fresh air.
Casino visit in Helsinki
One evening, we decided to explore a different side of Helsinki and visited the local casino. It wasn’t about gambling, but about experiencing the city’s nightlife in a responsible way. The elegant atmosphere, live music, and friendly staff made it a memorable evening. Some of us tried small games just for fun, while others enjoyed snacks and conversation in the lounge. It was a great way to relax together after a week of work and school — an evening filled with laughter, lights, and shared experiences rather than luck and bets.
Trip to Turku – Student Tournament
We joined a student tournament in Turku, which was organized between different schools, including Keuda. The day started early with a long but fun bus ride filled with jokes and music. Once we arrived, the competitive spirit kicked in — everyone gave their best in various challenges, from sports to creative problem-solving. It was inspiring to see how students from all over Finland came together to share ideas, teamwork, and a lot of laughter.
